Composition

Depth of Field and Focus
Since this is a composition image, it consists of several different images. As far as DOF we can just focus on the background image of the railroad tracks. As you can see that the image is pretty sharp however it could always be more clear. Since it is somewhat a landscape picture it is meant to be very precise. In order to better the DOF I can change the aperture of my camera.

Exposure
The exposure refers to the amount of light exposed to the image sensor. For these Pictures my camera was set to Auto so the exposure was left up to the camera not myself. Most of these images I am satisfied with the exposure on. However to better the exposure of each image I can always set it myself and not rely on the camera too. Doing that would help create an ideal exposure for each photo.

Lighting
All of the images here on this composition were taken outdoors using the natural light. When I was shooting these pictures the light wasn't the first thing on my mind. I don't however think there is anything particularly wrong with the lighting. But I will say there is always room for improvement. Next time while i'm shooting I will pay more attention to the lighting of things.

Lines
Lines refers to the lines that are incorperated into your images. I think that I did a decent job with his in this set of images. The railroad tracks provide a great natural line in the background image. Also the way it disappears into the distant horizon looks very pleasing. The use of lines makes the whole composition of the picture look better.

Color/Value
Here the color and value refers to the scheme of colors used and the purpose or value of them. In this composition a pretty realistic color scheme was used. Each of the images that make up this composite are  pretty natural. None of the pictures contain any super bright colors. There is a lot of grey and brown in each individual image and not a lot of bright colors.

Composition
The composition of and image refers to the balance of all the things in the photograph. this can mean the elements, how they are arranged, the lighting and much more. There are some basic rules that can help you get the ideal composition for an image. One of the most popular being the rule of thirds. This rule is simply dividing the image into 3 parts and placing the subject on the dividing lines. SInce this is a composite it contains more then one image so the rule of thirds is harder to apply however during the placement of each individual photo I took it into consideration.

  1. This is a very well done composite. I think the exact DOF in this picture is very hard to hard. The image being used as a background has a very large depth of field. You can tell because the whole image is in focus. The photographer did a great job making sure all of her layers were in focus before she shot them. I think that made placing the images on the background look a lot smoother and it looks very nice.

For the exposure of this picture, I think that she chose the correct exposure of each individual image. All of the images are well lit and well focused. It also seems that her camera was set on auto mode which is why the exposure turned out as well as it did. I also think her aperture was set correctly to help balance the light in her shots. Overall, I think she did a great job in seeing that her exposure made the picture turn out very nice.

I think the photographer chose front lighting for these pictures. Her source of light was the sun, so it gave the whole composite a very natural tone. I think the lighting in this shot turned out good on the account of her shutter speed as well as the sunlight. The sun is a very hard thing to use for lighting, because you can’t guarantee the outcome. Although, the photographer made sure that to was the right time of day out to take these shots and the images turned out great.

Lines are a very key element of this image. The background of this image is railroad tracks, which gave the whole image a very deep look to it. The lines help lead you across the picture. I think that gives this picture a very artistic tone and it turned out very well. The photographer did a great job setting up the leading lines in this shot.

The colors in this photo are very dramatic. The photographer used both black and white and colored images to throw together her final product. I think this was a very smart thing to do. It gives the whole image a very intense yet bright mood because of the contrast of black and white and color. I also like that she changed the opacity of some of her shots to help make colors appear more dull as well as create an overall mood.

This image clearly uses the rule of thirds. You can see that the photographer places her images on the left and right planes of the picture to give the piece an artistic tone. The only thing that is centered is the background which is what I really like about this image. You can follow the leading lines on the background and see all the separate parts of the image fall together. Very well done. I like this image a lot.

  2. Depth of Field
There are many different examples of depth of field in this composition picture. Since it’s a composition each picture has a different depth of field. The most I think comes from the original picture of the train tracks. And I really like how using that picture effects the depth of field on the other pictures.

    Exposure
I like the different exposures in these pictures. Some are a little under exposed which I think looks cool. I think all of the different exposures go good with this composite.

    Lighting
The lighting is good in this picture. The main picture has good lighting because it’s outside. I think the black and white picture has good lighting and fits in the composite very well. Overall the lighting for all of these pictures is very good.

    Lines
For lines you have the main lines from the railroad tracks. I think it centers the pictures really well. It gives the other pictures a “right place” if you will. I like how the pictures are lined up very well with the tracks.

    Color/Value
I really like all the colors of the pictures placed in. And Also of the railroad tracks. I also think the black and white picture brings out the color of the other pictures really well. I think you get the true value of the other pictures with the add on of the black and white picture.

    Composition
The composition of the picture is the balance of everything. I think there is a great balance of all of these pictures. I wouldn’t change anything in this overall picture. The color and black and white fit perfectly. Everything binds together very well.

  3. I love this !

    Depth of Field and Focus:
It's hard to put all of the different types of photos into one category, because since it is a composite they're going to be different. But, I'd say that her depth of field is deep and her aperture was set wide. As for the field of focus, it's mostly the same for all of them since they were taken around the same area.

    Exposure:
The exposure looks about right in all of her photos, not too over exposed or too under exposed. I agree that her camera was more than likely on auto, so the camera took care of making sure that she didn't have any blown out photos. Nicely done!

    Lighting:
The lighting in this composite was obviously outdoor, because she is outside on the rail road tracks. Auto had taken care of keeping the lighting just right. It would have been really cool if she had taken some of the photos in a different lighting to create a little demention to the composite. All in all I think the lighting looks just fine.

    Lines:
The lines in the composite are nice because they give you somewhere to look, and where she wants the attention to be on. I also like how she make the photos on the side of the rail road tracks so its balanced.

    Color/ Value:
The colors are definitely realistic, not much manipulation was done to the background image at least. And, the other images in the composite were just made a little translucent. All in all the color scheme is realistic.

    Composition:
I personally don't see the rule of thirds in this composite. There is definitely fill the frame, because as you look further down the tracks they get smaller and smaller.

Your composite turned out great! Nice job :)
