Portrait assignment- Candid and Posed images

Candid

Posed
Depth of field
I am writing about the second image here on this blog. This is an up close image of my friend Ashlyn. The depth of field is pretty focused and you can see the image clearly. I like how the image is focused on here face. The leaves in the back are not as focused and I like it that way.

Exposure
Originally the exposure in this picture was not as bright as it is now. I did edit the picture and made it a bit more exposed because it was underexposed. Now I am happy with the exposure. However if i were to re do this image I would expose it more.

Lighting
Similar to the exposure, the image was initially a little dark. Like I said before I did edit it and lighten it. Since the light used was totally natural It was a bit dark. Next time I would have tried to get a little more light for the picture. But Overall I think its perfectly alright.

Lines
Since this a portrait there is not a ton of places for a lot of lines. There are however a few you can see. One being in the subjects hair. You can see the texture of her which is straight and creates some lines. There is also some lines formed by the two sides of the driveway in the back of the image.

Colors
I really like the colors in this picture. They really are not a lot of them but they work together as they are. I especially like how the leaves are a very pretty orange and red color. I think it adds just a bit of nice interest in the back of the the image. I also like how it makes the subjects pale skin pop against it.

Composition
I did think about composition when I was taking this picture. I used the rule of thirds. The subjects face takes up only two thirds of the picture. I love the way I took this picture!! If I were to take it again I would not change the composition.
